Martha completed her undergraduate studies at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario combining Psychology and Native Studies. She worked with adolescents who were involved in the
juvenile justice system as well as volunteered with inmates in the federal penitentiary system who came from aboriginal communities. In 2007, Martha graduated from Naropa University, Boulder,
Colorado with a Master's in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Simultaneously, Martha underwent a training program in hospice care with a Buddhist and contemplative mindset. Martha
graduated as a Certified Gestalt Therapist from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies and combined her experience and training working with adolescents and their families in a wilderness therapy program.
Martha enjoys supporting parents of teenaged children bridge breakdowns in their communication and learn how to make better contact and connections as a family. Recently, Martha has completed a 3-month intensive in working with the body and breath and helping clients to increase their awareness of the relationship between their body, their thoughts, and their emotions.
